Artist's Comments

Wealthy. At least it appears so. Brimming with tears, why didn't you take a cab?

I would just like to take this opportunity to say my heart is with the victims and their families following the recent terrorist attacks on London.

Quite a mix of emotions on my birthday. Thank you for all the comments and favorites.

6 Train heading toward Canal Street and Little Italy after my first visit to the Met. My brother and Gretchen were with me.
Nikon N80, F/1.8 at 1/30 ISO 400.
Sharpened slightly. A lot of dust for some reason. I didn't take it all out though. The scanner is a little screwed up for some reason.

The artist has always something to say.... may I say something about it?

In the picture it's hard to tell because her eyes are closed, but she was definitely crying. No one else seemed to notice though. I can't believe she held it in. If a tear would have slipped, I think this picture would be my best.

this was such a big moment. what we saw was only the surface.
i wonder what was happening in her life that day.
i don't know, it's just amazing to me, getting a tiny glipse into
someone else's life when they are vulnerable and just...alive.
even if it's alive and hurting.
beautiful shot, nick.

love the focus that singles her out. Wonderful subject, and good moment.

What do you use to scan? The quality is fantastic

Not only do i like the concept, well actually the concept
is life. The description is well writen and i agree with all
thats been said before me. But what i am most amazed
about is that you had gutsd enough to shoot in an over
crowded (at least thats what it looks like) underground.
I havnt reached the point yet where i couldnt care about
peoplea reactions when i photograph them from very close.

I agree with a single tear on her face that would have been
a 'killer'-photo, though i am not sure if one can say that.
Sounds a bit too sarcastic. ;)

Very good work.

Thanks. I am in love with shallow DoF, hence the F/1.8. I used an Epson 1600XL. It's a monster. Unfortunately, there are tons of scratches on it because of some very immature students.
